admission
Admission to the institute is a combination of a written exam and an interview which allows the teachers to select motivated students, driven by a real passion for the movies and a strong attraction to the film industry.

Applicants must be holders of A-levels or High School graduates (or equivalent degrees).

Examination

The examination takes place in the IMC Normandie in Cherbourg. It lasts approximately 3 hours. Date and time are decided with the Applicant.

It includes :
  • A cover letter
  • A cultural test
  • An individual interview
  • A creativity test for students applying for the Directing Department
  • A storyboard test for students applying for the Anim/Fx Department
  • An audition for students applying for the Acting Department

Admission criteria

Admission to the IMC Normandie is decided on an individual basis. It is the result of :
  • the grade obtained for the examination
  • the opinion of the jury who examines the competences, the motivation and the seriousness of each applicant

You will receive by mail, within 15 days, a report card of your examination which will inform you of the jury's decision.

Language requirements

Each course being taught in French, language fluency is required for application to any department.
